OK, so it seems from my research so far that:

a) 'Isochronous mode' is a USB 2.0 and above thing

No. The programming model has not changed in USB 2.0. The difference is mostly one of electrical specifications and speeds.

b) Sun Ray 2 only has 1.1 USB ports

IIRC it is a bit more complicated. But that is not my area of expertise.

... so that precludes hanging an iPhone off a Sun Ray 2.

If it only needs USB 2.0 compatibility it might work. If it needs isochronous transport it does not work (today). If it needs USB 2.0 data rates, it will never work with a Sun Ray 2.

A Sun Ray 3 Plus has USB 2.0 ports and therefore might support isochronous devices, if the rest of the stack supported it. Any Oracle
person got an opinion on whether it's on a drawing board somewhere?

It might even be possible with older DTUs.

But I neither know, if it is on any actual roadmap, nor if it would include Sun Ray 2/2FS/270.

And if I knew, this list wouldn't be an appropriate place to discuss it :-/
