63.xxx.xxx.xxx is usually what happens when your DNS servers (or your ISP's
most likely) have NX domain redirection turned on (that's the thing where if
you enter a hostname into your browser that doesn't exist, it sends you to a
helper/search page instead of saying "server not found").  NX domain
redirection tends to confuse Sun Rays, but is by no means a fault of the DTU
nor is it a stopper to a DTU broadcasting to find a Sun Ray server after
failing to connect to 63.xxx.xxx.xxx.  If your Sun Ray server is working,
your DTU should still be able to connect to it after a delay.

Non-GUI firmware has always been the default.  The official documentation
that Craig pointed you to earlier has the commands to set the GUI firmware.
