We use OneBadge, which to the SRS looks like type "Oberthur". I got it
to work with both W2K3 and W2K8 through many trials and tribulations and
much sackcloth and ashes and not inconsiderable help from some on this
list.

Subject: EXTERNAL:[SunRay-Users] multi-technology smartcards

I am working on a pilot project to supply my users with a single card
for
Sun Ray + physical access. We don't have control over the choice of
technologies used for physical access here at the university, and our
Center is spread across several floors and buildings. This means we
have
both proximity and magstripe systems in use. I have been researching
this
for awhile and came across a previous thread back in 2007 that touched
on
this topic, but I'm wondering if others on the list have faced the same
problem and what solutions they are using.

It seems the best and perhaps only card that would meet our needs is the

HID Smart DuoProx II. Their website still claims that a contact smart
chip can be embedded as an option but they no longer list them in their
order guide. When I contacted HID by phone they said they no longer
offer
embedded chips on those cards. They are instead pushing the Crescendo
C200 and C700 (http://www.hidcrescendo.com/).

So far I've found no mention of anyone using the Crescendo cards with
Sun
Rays but it looks like they could work. Anyone using these or have
other
suggestions?

Thanks.
