Scott, This sounds similar to when I started testing smartcards with W2K8/R1. There was a problem with uttsc and pcsc that needed two separate bug fixes to resolve. I also was using ActivClient and an Oberthur smartcard [for which someone <Michael Bender?> had to create a special conf file].

Upon login, the card reader blinks and then stops responding. We are using Active Client middleware and it's not detecting that a card reader is attached. The setup being used was previously running Windows XP machines and that setup work properly. Once migrated to Windows 7, this functionality has stopped. Any ideas?
