I've is a different issue. I've been able to recreate it, but not reliably.
Can you tell me about your set up a bit? Server details, network speeds and feeds?

I inserted the “–D” option via the web gui of the Sun Ray Administration page (Advanced/Kiosk Mode) and still no joy. Should I be inserting the “-D” elsewhere for it to take hold?
