I see this messages very often in /var/opt/SUNWut/log/messages:

Is this anything to be concerned about?

No

Configuration error??

Solaris still has the hooks for the Sun Desktop Manager to provide settings for gconf (GNOME configuration manager) clients. As you don't have the Sun Desktop Manager client configured, those hooks remain inactive. So far all is fine.

Unfortunately gconf logs this as a warning whenever its starts, which is at least once per user session.

To get rid of the log entries, you could edit file /etc/gconf/2/path and comment out (prefix with a '#' hash) or remove the line that reads
   apoc:readonly:mandatory@

This does no harm, unless you do want to use the old Sun Desktop Manager or revive the Apoc project at freedesktop.org. Beware: A future GNOME patch might clobber that fix.
