Hi All We have been running SunRays with the http://www.mozdevgroup.com Kiosk for several years. It's time for a Software refresh whilst our students swan around on their Summer Holls.
It appears that Mozilla removed the -install-global-extension command from Firefox 3.6 There are several work arounds for this, but none suitable for a SunRay environment where there are no persistent user sessions. We could simply use Firefox 3.5.x but that somewhat defeats the object of doing a software refresh. Firefox is set as a "Critical" app to ensure that any session information is removed when a user closes the session. I use Prototypes to populate the .mozilla folder but the Mozilla Kiosk is not created as it should without the extension installed globally. Solaris 10 Sparc-u9 SRSS 5.2 in Kiosk mode. Firefox 3.6.18 from the Mozilla download links. BMAKiosk from mozdevgroup Any ideas and suggestions welcome. Thanks -- Alex Collins.
