Hi,

during the last 2-3 years I have been using a Sun Ray 2 from home connecting to the Cisco VPN server of our university to work on the Sun Ray server of our institute (Debian 4 / Debian 5, SRSS 5.1). This configuration worked OK as long as I used the firmware GUI4.2_140993-01_2010.01.21.17.35. The connection was stable however somewhat slow with respect to display refresh / mouse and keyboard responsiveness.

After upgrading the firmware of the Sun Ray 2 (we use CentOS Sun Ray servers for this purpose) to the lastest version, i.e. 4.3_146928-01_2011.06.03.14.41, the connection is much faster (display refresh / mouse and keybord), however, I experience random disconnects of the VPN connection. Sometimes I can work for about an hour without a disconnect however on other occassions I experience several disconnects within 10-15 minutes. I switched between old and new firmware and can reproduce this behaviour.

Did anybody else also experience similar problems with the latest firmware?

Any ideas how to get rid of the VPN disconnects?

Yours,
Guido
