That's the command, it has to be ran from the user's session or an administrator can supply the necessary terminal / token information.

Unless of course they are running a Sun Ray 2FS or 3Plus. These give the appearance of Xinerama, however they do not use it. The displays are always extended and this handled in the hardware. You cannot separate the displays on these models.
