Possibly showing bad netiquette, I will answer my own question: ---------------------------- I'm getting confused so I thought I'd ask the group.
When I log in to MOS and try to download a SRSS-related patch [say, 140993-06], I get a message that says I don't have the privilege of downloading that patch; I need "Software" access. When I look at the details of my CSIDs, they all say the same thing in the "Patch Download Access" field: Operating System Firmware Public I'm assuming that if I had the "Software" access that the error message is telling me about, it would say "Software" in the "Patch Download Access" field. Am I correct? If so, what do I need to order on my maintenance contract to get "Software" access? Maybe I'm not using the right terminology when I communicate with Oracle but so far this seemingly simply answer has eluded me. Thanks. Scott ------------------------------- All of the CSIs I was looking at were "hardware-specific", although I didn't know enough MOS terminology to figure that out. The CSI type said "Premiere Support for Systems". The "Systems" is the key: that means HW. If I had read https://support.oracle.com/CSP/main/article?cmd=show&type=NOT&doctype=REFERENCE&id=1269292.1 more carefully, I would have seen near the bottom where "Software" requires "Premier Support for Software" [kinda logical, eh?]. Once I figured this out, I happened to have a support contract with an unactivated CSI which corresponded to software support. Once I activated it, logged out and back in, I was able to get to my SRSS software patches. _______________________________________________ SunRay-Users mailing list [email protected] http://www.filibeto.org/mailman/listinfo/sunray-users
