We are seeing an increasing percentage of the 1100 DTUs deployed in the
'utdesktop -Lw' output. This morning it was 135.
Some, but not all, can be found with 'utwho -ac | grep <MAC>' in which
case they can be killed with 'utsession -k -t pseudo.<MAC>'.
This problem was reported in Jan 2011 with some feedback but no final
solution. An SR was opened but closed with no solution. A daily cold
restart is not an approach I want to propose to the Customer.
Does anyone know what causes a DTU to get in this error state??
utdesktop is a binary so I can't even look at a script to determine what
the -w option looks for. It was suggested that this might be a resource
starvation issue, but I don't see which resource. I increased the number
of workers to 32 just to see if that helps.
Of course, opening an SR would be the best approach, but as of today,
the Customer's CSI for software doesn't allow them to open SR's. It's a
long story.
