Hi Craig

Thanks for the update.

Have been testing 3.4 on Solaris 10 U10 x86_64

Been fighting Java errors on the Administrator console Cloning tab - literally
kicks me out to the login page.

Known issue ?

Also will there be any reference specs re the new configurable storage types
available from Oracle that can be used with VDI ?
(i.e. Oracle's storage as a part of the solution, as opposed to the other
brands available).

Regards

Jeremy Stagg

Hi Folks,
By now you've most likely seen the press release for 3.4.
http://www.oracle.com/us/corporate/press/1624379

I apologize for not being able to respond earlier, especially to those
former Sun customers who are accustomed to a different level of openness
on these products that we are no longer fulfill.

The answer is simple as Brad states, the PR got delayed. What's not as
simple is the fact that somethings happen in an automated fashion, like
releasing to Oracle's eDelivery, while the PR goes through a human
approval process. Like it or hate it, we (the folks from the product
group on this list) just aren't allowed to comment on software that
hasn't been "announced" yet. It's just a rule we have to follow. Since
I kind of enjoy being employed and I really love working on Oracle VDI
and Sun Ray Server software, I will continue to follow it. :)

*One item of note or interest:* If you downloaded VDI 3.4, you will
probably get or have already gotten an automated message from eDelivery
telling you to re-download VDI 3.4 due to issues with the installer.

This is, at best, an overstatement. We have little control on the
wording, it detects new masters and sends out a canned message.

The "issue" only had to do with an incorrect URL (missing the version
info) in the wget routine for the version of VBox. Most of you
experienced with the new way of distributing VirtualBox with Oracle VDI
already no how to work-around the failures of a wget script (usually due
to firewalls, proxies, and not setting the proxy in /etc/wgetrc).

There's no reason to re-install the product due to this. Hope that
helps out some of you.
