Argh MD5 hash, not MD4. Sorry.

Didn't mean to send that as is.

Anyways, here:

#!/bin/bash
# Get the display
MyDisplay=`echo $DISPLAY | sed 's/.*:\([^.]*\).*/\1/'`;export MyDisplay
# Get the Model
MyModel=`sed -n 's/^MODEL_ID=//p'
/tmp/SUNWut/config/dispinfo/$MyDisplay`;export MyModel
echo $MyModel

It's better to think of thinks as client identifiers or CID. The CID of
a Sun Ray client is it's MAC. The CID of ODVC (techically of an OVDC
profile) its the 32 hex representation of that profiles MD4 hash of it's
key. Physical Sun Ray CID's start with IEEE802, OVDC CID's start with MD5

So if you only care about a physical Sun Ray vs OVDC, you can do this

TYPE=`ls -l $UTDEVROOT | sed 's/.*units\/\([^.]*\).*/\1/'`

OVDCs have MACs that are unlike any of my physical units; the MACs
are much longer also [33 characters vs 12]. Another thing I noticed
is that "utquery -d IP_address" on an OVDC returns nothing.

To differentiate between physical units, can you use the "model"
parameter in the "utquery -d IP_address" output? Would a model 2 be
SunRayP8, while a 2FS would be SunRayP9, etc.?

Subject: EXT :[SunRay-Users] How to identify DTU model in a script

I have a need to identify what model Sun Ray my Kiosk script is
connected to. In particular, I need to know if it is an actual Sun
Ray or the OVDC. I'm using SRS 5.3.1.

Any suggestions??
