Hello everyone, I'm currently using SRSS 4.2 on multiple networks, served by a variety of SPARC and x86 boxes running Solaris 10. Something I've wanted to implement but haven't yet had/taken the time was to set up a couple of displays that we have running that use the Sun Rays. Both are Java applications. One is fed data via IBM's WebSphere MQ, the other is a clock showing multiple time zones of interest. The applications are purely for display - there is (almost) no user input. "Almost" meaning that someone may change the settings to alter what's being displayed but in general, it's left alone for months at a time.

Presently we have to manually log in to a dummy user account and start up the display in question, and while we don't have to run through that process often, it'd be nice to have things set up so we don't have to at all.

The Sun Ray networks in question *mostly* serve up interactive sessions. There is one Sun Ray dedicated to each of the two aforementioned applications - those two units really aren't used for anything else - but the remaining clients serve login sessions.

I've been aware of kiosk mode for a long time now but have always had too many other things on my plate to investigate :-). Is kiosk mode the right thing to look at when you have a single client on a network that you want configured in this special way? Is there a better option? Where's the best place to start (after the mailing list that is) for finding information on setting it up (my apologies if this is an annoying question, I did try to find information but so far have only been led to broken oracle documentation links)?

Thanks for any help.
