If you're using Oracle VDI, why not just let it VDI launch it for you?
If you're specifically talking about usb r not working, you're missing
the -r usb:on flag. It's a non-exposed uttsc command to prevent
confusion/conflicts when trying to run uttsc from a non-kiosk session,
thus usually only called through kiosk scripts. You can look at
/etc/opt/SUNWkio/sessions/uttsc/uttsc for an example.
