Craig:

Thanks for your response.

Before I tried to effect this change, the output of utpolicy resulted in:

-a -M -z both

After my first attempt to change it to
-a -M -z both -k card
(which failed),

I then tried to change it to something that would test whether the kiosk stuff would "take:"

I then changed things to:
-a -z card -k card

That was successful.

Then I tried to go back to the original setting of:
-a -M -z both
which, surprisingly, failed. I could however go back to the '-z both' option if I left off the -M flag.

So, at the moment, I am running:
-a -z both

even though, if I can't do any better, I'd at least like to return to
-a -M -z both
and would ideally like to go to:
-a -M -z both -k card

Note: this is a long-standing server and I haven't upgraded SRSS but am simply trying to change the policy.

I think that I am running SRSS version 4.0 on a Solaris 10 x86_64 machine (OS version 10u6) and patch level 172554-08. For the kiosk stuff, I am running what I believe to be the matching 4.0 version under patch 128166-02.

I also tried the command that you suggested with adding the -g flag, but that also resulted in 'ERROR: Could not update policy'.

Thanks for your help,

John

Hi John,

What the output of just "utpolicy" with no options?

Is this a new server, or an upgrade of SRSS? What version is this exactly?

What happens with "-a -M -z both -k card -g"
