While we are on the subject of filter house, good ol' house, acid house, techno, trance, cyberpunk, electronica, freestyle, big beat, etc. etc. etc.... whatever happened to "RAVE"??? (what I usta call all of it... it was a nice four letter word that seemed to sum it all up wonderfully) It's like people almost go out of their way to avoid using that word these days... and as far as the sound (one that I tend to call "bubblegum rave")...what happened to the old rave sound... the really blissful almost silly style... the nice bubbly noises and expiremental samples... anybody remember Jonny L Hurt U So (Alright), Age Of Love Age Of Love (Jam And Spoon Mix), Psycoslaphead Psychoslaphead, LA Style's almost megahit James Brown Is Dead??? Art Of Noise's Instruments Of Darkness? Okay, I'm like 7 or 8 years out of date but I really loved that era and it's getting harder for me to find that stuff (I believe alot of it may have just been singles and no real connecting albums from the bands).... I once saw a 4 cd box set called The Best Of Rave (and this was a different The Best Of Rave from Priority Records (though I'd kill to get another copy of Vol.1 on cd from them)) and I did'nt get a chance to get it...and wish I had...best of my memory it was fairly cheap for the size. Sorry to get all dreamy about the past, I'll be talking about O-ring bracelets next....
