Well I don't know about the US but in the UK it's alive and kicking, going under the rather dubious title of "happy hardcore". I have to say I hanker after the old days too...such classics as Bizarre Inc's "Playing With Knives" (rereleased last month pop pickers), anything by Altern8, Praga Khan etc etc. One thing I have noticed is that a lot of the dj's from the breakbeat days have now gone on to jungle - witness Grooverider, Fabio, space monkey etc etc. Traitors! And about your fashion comments...I have recently witnessed a worrying trned in London techno clubs - the re-emergance of the white gloves & glo-stick brigade. Complete with sunhats and whistles. I'll take the music but you can keep the clothes.... Screemin' to twilo....(paul van dyk tonight!) Adam.
