Date: Mon, 3 May 1999 20:21:27 +0200 There is a reason this is called Life in Minds. The melody (the string synth sound) is from the Simple Minds song Theme for Great Cities released in about 1982. An easy one to spot since this is my favourite Simple Minds track, and thereby blowing any illusion to my good taste or youth. The resemblance to SS is in my opinion much harder to hear. To my ears it just screems Simple Minds. There is a link of course to SS: The track Simple on New Dark Times is also based on Simple Minds tracks from the same period. That this track should appear on NDT, rather than a normal commercial release, must be in no small measure to the copyright concerns with that track. cheers, Mark Fibbly Sweden [sorry if this is a repeat. It's one of Satellite Record's new 12 inch trance releases. It's by Life on Mars, and is titled "Life in Minds," and is on Quad Communications. I don't know any significance that this may have as far as Sunscreem is concerned, but see if you can identify what well-known track this borrows from. I won't give it away, because this might serve as an ideal method to see who the hardcore SS fans are. ;) Peace, Vince ********************************************************* You are being sent this message because you are subscribed to the Sunscreem Mailing List.
