Underworld is pretty impressive, but they seem to have fallen prey to a
formula that hasn't really changed all that significantly since
"Dubnobasswithmyheadman." Nonetheless, I have grown quite attached to their
latest offering, after listening to it countless times. Even though it gets
a bit repetitive in some parts, it's quite mesmerizing (especially slower
tracks like Winjer, Jumbo, and Cups, just to name a few.) Bruce Lee is a
surprising direction for Underworld w/ hip hop flavors throughout. Perhaps
the most appealing thing about Underworld is their noncomformity to today's
washed-out pop music, and Hyde's incoherent ramblings beg u 2 ask, "what
will he say next?" :)

Gus Gus is yet another experimental pop artist, who have delved into several
genres including trance, deep/vocal house, trip hop, pop, and just plain
weirdness (for lack of a better term.) They hail from Iceland (home of "the
other white meat" aka Bjork), and consist in the vicinity of 13 members, all
offering their creative flare 2 the final product (which brings about a very
diverse album.) W/ only 2 albums under their belt, I suggest you check out
"Polydistortion" first and then venture onto "This is Normal" (which was
just released.) Their latest offering seems 2 be geared for more widespread
consumption. You can listen to sound clips of all the tracks off both the
albums by visiting http://www.gusgus.com (what a surprise, eh? ;)

Let us know what you think (and anyone else whose familiar w/ Gus Gus, feel
free to comment.)

By the way, in order to get this thread somewhat back on-topic, I can't wait
to hear all the new remixes of "No Angel." The original version of that on
"Change or Die" was just so incredible....I hope I won't be let down.
