Whilst other band recommendations for Sunscreem fans are going around, I
just thought I'd mention Arkarna. Another listen this afternoon to their
album "Fresh Meat" has reminded me how good they can get. Tracks like "R
U Ready" might as well have the word "Sunscreem" on them since they
sound exactly like that, while some other tracks are interesting
male-vocal indie-dance crossover numbers. It's the first and best way
I've ever heard indie and dance cross over successfully...
Sadly, their stuff is now available in bargain bins internationally. For
anyone who _has_ already heard of them, I don't suppose anybody knows
what they're up to now? Their last single was about a year ago, and I'd
hate to think that they've given in. (They only managed one Top 40 hit,
a #33, out of at least three singles).
