For your info, about a minute's worth of "Love in Vain" is going to be shown
on
a Sky Sport 2 programme called "Xtreme (Hugo Boss Watches Sport)" on Sunday,
22nd and Monday 23rd August. I think the music will be played over a
surfing
clip. The programme is on at (I think) 7.00 p.m. and midnight on the 22nd
and
then 9.00 a.m. and 1.00 p.m. on the 23rd. Although I guess the times could
be
different in the US.
Similarly, a different episode of the same programme is featuring about 3
minutes of "High Speed Eyes" on Sunday 5th September, I think over a
mountain
biking clip.
We have known Paul and Lucia for a few years now. We are also based in
Essex,
not too far away from where they live. Steve Mortimer, our keyboard
programmer,
came to know them first. I believe the story goes that Steve was working in
a
record shop in Chelmsford, Essex and Lucia's dad used to come into his shop.
Steve got to know who he was and one day gave him a tape of some stuff he
had
recorded, asking whether he would mind passing it on to Paul and Lucia to
see if
they would mind giving him their opinion on it. Well, they did get back to
Steve and a friendship built up between them. Steve formed Sugarglider with
myself and Phil, our guitarist, about 3 years ago. Paul and Lucia very
kindly
donated their engineering and production services and their studio to us to
help
us record some demoes and "Love in Vain" and then Steve co-wrote the
Sunscreem
single "Catch" with P & L. Steve and Phil even guested (miming!) at a
"Radio 1
summer roadshow" with P & L to promote "Catch" when it was released. They
offered to re-mix our new single "Bee Sting Smile" and the finished result
is
pretty amazing we think. It is due for release here in the UK on 18
October.
