I bought a Sound Research turntable recently (can't afford a Technics or a Vestax at
present) and tried hooking it up to my mixer, a Mackie 1202. The results were less
than impressive through a line input or a mic input with gain. I bought a $AUS149 NAD
PP-1 Phono preamp which I now run into my Mackie then into my PC. It gives better
sound than any of the other combinations, and has resulted in some decent sounding
CDRs.

I received a SS parcel this morning containing No Angel and 4 12"s. My belated
opinion of No Angel is pretty much in agreement with what has already been said - a
couple of ordinary mixes (Rivera & Litman) and a couple of much better ones (anadin,
68 beats and taz club jump). The 12"s will have to wait till I get home from work.
4:51pm can't roll round fast enough...
