If it were _sampled_ then it's the recording rights which are paid, they do indeed go
to Sony. But a _cover_ is a re-recording by a new artist, in this case the only rights
payable are to the original writers, who are P&L and will forever be so. Amen. It's
not a big amount (maybe a point or 2) but with good sales it can add up. I think that
we worked out for the Steps cover that P&L earned about 1p per album sold, doesnt
sound a lot but take a look at the sales figures!
