Hi ya...

I'm a big Salt Tank fan. I first heard of them back in 1996 when their Tori
Amos-sampling ("Me and A Gun", uncredited) single called "Eugina" just
barely scraped to number 40 in the UK charts. That was my favourite song of
the year.

They released an album which had a fairly wide distribution in '96 called
"Science and Nature" which featured a lot of the tracks from their earlier
EPs. It also had the single "Swell" (which samples Kate Bush's "The Man With
The Child Is In His Eyes"). They released some singles on FFRR which didn't
do much, unfortunately, and then in '99 the excellent "Dimension" and The
White Island EP/Pueblo Blanco were released on Hooj Choons. Eugina was
remixed by Michael Woods, DJ Tiesto and Salt Tank and was released on Hooj's
sister label Lost Language late last year.

Salt Tank worked with Chicane on one of the tracks from the FFTMC album - I
think it was Leaving Town. They have done remixes for the likes of Chicane,
Paul Van Dyk, Apollo 440 and Chakra. They are currently working with the
Space Brothers and Astralasia in a side project called Patient Saints and
some material is due out this year from them.

www.cdzone.co.uk has a fairly good selection of Salt Tank records, including
the original Eugina (4) and the remixes from last year.
