This might seem a bit long, but it's important, please read at least the
first bit, down to where it says "the rest is non-essential reading"...

After an e-mail from Joost, who's very kindly maintained the
explizit.org discussion list for Sunscreem for some time now, saying
that he felt that moving the Sunscreem discussion list to Yahoo Groups
was a good idea, I've now set up the new Sunscreem group as promised.
See my e-mail a day or two ago (the one that got bounced to this list
about 20 times) for a short list of some of the advantages I think that
the new list will have.

The list's web site is:
        http://groups.yahoo.com/group/sunscreem/
>From this site you can access the various features of the new list. You
will need to sign in to access most of these features, and the first
time you sign in, you may need to get a Yahoo! User ID, which takes a
couple of minutes and is of course free. You'll still be able to use
this list freely via e-mail even if you never visit the web site or get
a Yahoo! ID.

The address for sending messages to the list is:
        [EMAIL PROTECTED]
PUT THIS IN YOUR ADDRESS BOOK!

Quite IMPORTANT paragraph- Joost has sent me a list of all the
subscribers to this list, and in a few hours (once this message has been
sent out), I'll be directly subscribing everybody on this list to the
new list. Joost & I agree that this should be a 'straight swop', and
that the new list should simply hit the ground running with all the
members of this list. As a result you should all be receiving a
'Welcome' message this afternoon (GMT), unless you already subscribe
yourself in the meantime via the above address. You can also subscribe
via e-mail by sending an e-mail to [EMAIL PROTECTED]

If for some reason you don't want to receive mail from the new list, you
can go to the above web site and change your subscription to either
Digest (no more than 1 e-mail per day) or Web Only (no more e-mail ever,
but you can still access the list via the Web). Or you can unsubscribe
completely, but we'd rather you didn't...

If you have any initial problems with your subscription, then e-mail me
at this address requesting what you want your subscription to be and
I'll arrange it.

"The rest is non-essential reading."

Joost is a moderator of the new list too, so there's no change of power
here. :-)

If you've got a web site, then it would be great if you could include a
link to the list's web site on it. If you go to
http://groups.yahoo.com/group/sunscreem/ and follow the "Promote" link
you can find a couple of sets of HTML commands, which will provide a
nice pretty link, or even allow people to subscribe directly to the
Sunscreem list from _your_ web site...

Later today I'll also customise some of the settings of the list web
page to what I think will run best. If anyone thinks something should be
done differently, let me know- even down to the colour scheme of the web
page itself, which is customisable. It would be especially good if
anyone's got any more bookmarks (ie. URL links) to add to the bookmarks
page.

If anyone has any suggestions for improvements to the way the new list
is run, or comments about the move, please let me know.

Stuart.
