actually, I tried without the gem, but I got this error message :

/usr/lib/ruby/1.8/rubygems/custom_require.rb:27:in
`gem_original_require': no such file to load -- sup (LoadError)
        from /usr/lib/ruby/1.8/rubygems/custom_require.rb:27:in `require'
        from sup/bin/sup:8

and now that I uninstalled it, I get the message agin
