Hi List

After much time not worrying too much about the pci-to-pci bridge
difficulties in my S900 (its a UK Pulsar really) I've run into a
problem.

I was running for a long time:

Slot 1 - E100 (I don't use the ethernet connector, just scsi)
Slot 2 - Voodoo 5500
Slot 3 - 4 port usb card

No problems.

However I've now tried to add a Formac ProTV into the mix.

And no dice, it locks up every time when I open up the ProTV
application, IF the usb card is in the machine.

I *can* get all four cards working if I have:

Slot 1 - Voodoo 5500
Slot 2 - ProTV
4 port usb card and E100 (in any of the lower slots.)

Only problem with that is the voodoo 5500 is too long and the cpu
"guide" on the inside of the case runs into the second psu connector
on the voodoo card - I cannot close up my S900 with the voodoo in
Slot 1. :-(

If I swap the voodoo 5500 and the ProTV, so I can close the case I
lose video on reboot (I think the machine may be trying to run a
display through the ProTV, but there is nothing attached - a quick
PRAM zap gets video back but I lose it again on reboot/restart.

Anyone else running these cards successfully in their S900 and can
advise me which slot order to try? I assume the problem is the usb
and ProTV cards are Bus Master cards and they just plain hate each
other.

I tried Voodoo card in the bottom slots but I just get no video at
all, so that has to stay up in Slot 2. The others could be in any
slot, as long as it works. :-)

Regards
Neil
