Maybe someone can help - I have an extra 2.0 GB Maxtor drive, that came from
a PC (formated for Win95), would like to install this in my C600. Plugs in,
spins up but first locks up the computer upon start up. If started on SCSI
then pluged in no lock up, but no drive utility can spot the drive ( Norton,
TecTools, SpeedTools 2.7, Apple drive set up), yet good old SCSI probe spots
it but can do nothing to it ? Could it be that it needs to be zeroed out
with a PC utility ? Or should a proper drive set up be able to take over the
drive ? Tried jumper - Master vs slave. Maxtor data from web site shows
several other settings : Cable Select Enabled / Cable Select Disable / Write
Cache Enabled / Write Cache Disabled - yuck to these PC settings, but do
these need to be adjusted ? If so what to ?
Thanks in advance,
Frank
