I have a S900 that Ive been using from time to time. Well the other day I
turn it on to get the X disc warning. I hear the harddisk chatter a little,
about 4 times, and the BAD DISK warning comes up.

Now I have a Mac 6100 with a good harddrive, I thought I could just swap it
and go from there but the pin configuration is different (2 rows on S900
hdrive, 1 row on 6100 hdrive)

A) Is there a pin adapter so I can use the 6100 drive in the S900?

While trying to swap the harddrives I noticed that the hard disk controller
card is in one of the 1 slot PCI slots, not in the 2 part PCI slots (like
PCI slot 1) ((When I say "2 part" I mean there is 2 slots in a line with
each other, 1 normal PCI length and then a little slot above it)) Since I
was getting a hard disk error and Since the harddrive controller has the 2
tabs I moved it into the 2 part slot. But the wierd thing is, I don't
remember it ever being in that slot. I thought maybe that was why I was
getting the error. After moving it, now I get no picture. I moved everything
back to the way it was, held CUDA, still no picture (I zapd PRAM also)

B) Does the hard disk controller have to be in that special slot?

So, since everything is slowly falling apart. I decided to strip the box and
start clean. I removed the standard ethernet card, replaced the G3 upgrade
card and put the original processor in, and held down the cuda for about 3
minutes. Zap Pram. Still no picture.

I have the x3D UltimateRez 8MB video card and tried to hook up to a Apple 15
monitor (still nothing) and my 17 viewsonic monitor thru the little
adapter/switchblock, nothing. No picture, and still apparently by
listening, no harddrive.

c) any suggestions about how I can 'get it back up'? ;-)

Thanks in advance
Brian
