Thanks everyone!
I had thought the battery might be an issue...because it was one of the
only things I thought but didn't try.
The Uninterruptible Power Supply is a good if I can get this running I'm
off to microcenter to get one.
IS there a direct way to test or find out if the logic board is fried?
(e.g. other than test all the other
components?)

There may have been a few points I can make more clear...
AGAIN The RAM, Processor, and bootable Hard drive all work I tested them
at school.
I unplugged everything else.

>hold the CUDA button for 30 sec.
yes

> check monitor cables and pins
yes

>I'ld reinstall the drivers ....boot with extensions off?
System does not boot at all. Drives just do the initial start up spin
for about 3 sec and thats it

>Why not get a good APC UPS to protect your system from power
fluctuations- Paul
>>Uninterruptible Power Supply if power gets zapped a 66% probability

Scary huh, usually happens in waves, (e.g. 2/3 a day then nothing for 5
days.) if I get this working
I will definitely get a UPS

>>boot from the DVD but the drives, will not mount?
Can not boot from any drive.

>>Either way, I would do the last best hope method of yanking every card
and
>>stick of memory along with the processor and battery and letting it
sit
>>overnight unplugged.

This is usually my last ditch effort, and it didn't work!
which is why I am hoping and begging that this forum has a possible
suggestion I missed trying something
obvious or not I have forgot...

>>install the drives (temporarily) into another Mac and mount them?
Brian
Yes, they mount in another computer.

>>A dead motherboard battery is notorious for taking out video. Bob
Robeson

Going to try this, haven't tried it yet! THANKS! But would this prevent
booting of the drive?
Any other help out there? I am really stuck on this one?

Haven't seen any symptoms like this before:
e.g. Computer works fine,
       then shutdown for 2 days,
       then monitor switched,
then drive boots ok, but no monitor,
then after unplugging a couple times no drive can boot the
system, and computer can be "reset" or
restarted with keys or restart button on computer everything looks,
sounds like its going to boot the system
for 3 seconds and then nothing happens.

thanks again for your help!
vince
