I just replaced my s900s battery 2 days ago.  Once you've slid out 
the floppy drive and unscrewed and removed the metal bracket 
underneath it, you should be able to just pull off the black cap. 
Just try a little harder.  Maybe pull from one end.  I got my battery 
from radio shack, i thought it was a bit expensive, $10.99 (in west 
la).  At least compared to what I spent on the s900, $115.  Since 
I've changed the battery, my s900 is keeping great time now.
