Stuffit has two parts: DropStuff (for compressing files) and StuffIt 
Expander (for uncompressing them)  The DropStuff part is shareware.  
StuffitExpander is freeware. If you just installed the Stuffit software, 
did you restart your computer?  Verify that the stuffit extension is in 
your system folder. It is the extension named StuffIt Engine. You might 
also need to double click on the StuffIt Expander program, and set some 
of the program's preferences.  Also, check to see where it is placing 
the files, after it uncompresses them.  That location is indicated in 
the preferences area.
