Julia:
You might try resetting the PRAM. (Command + Option + P + R at Start up =
Zaps the PRAM)
I don't know about the validity of this but someone on the list indicated
that the driver remains in the PRAM.
Wish I had the computer in front of me to troubleshoot it. I forgot from
your original post--is this a C500 or a C600? How much physical RAM is in the
machine? Are you running any other third-party extensions? Are the Apple CD
extensions disabled?
When you got the computer to reboot from the original 7.6 CD, what else did
you do for the 15-20 minutes? Were you trying to install other software?
