Yes, the MacGurus site needs updating and clarification.  Their 
problem is that they started with a somewhat clear explanation of the 
many detailed experiences they had with the various cards and then 
added additional information as it developed or was discovered.  So 
now their informative page is like a coral mound.

I'm a MacGuru's Moderator and I can't tell from that page whether 
there's still a problem using a G3 ZIF in the MPe carrier in PTPs or 
not, for example.  I could find out simply enough, but the point is 
it is definitely time for an update.

However, I also had an email from OWC Larry on a different topic and 
he asked whether they were incorrectly recommending the SSE for 
S900/J700 machines.   The answer to that question is yes.  While the 
S900 is a six slot machine its architecture is different from the 
other six slot machines in a way that avoids the problem which the 
SSE solves.  The SSE is only needed on dual Bandit machines where it 
solves a CPU bus arbitration issue that arises when G4 CPUs are used. 
However, I don't believe it will cause a problem, and now you have 
compatibility if you move to a 9500/9600 or PTP.
