<<I had an external HD that was running OS 8.0. Since the rest of my disks were HFS+, it wouldn't show their contents. So...I attempted to upgrade it to 8.1. During the upgrade process, I got a message that the disk driver could not be upgraded because it "was not an Apple Hard Disk." I went ahead and did the upgrade and, as I should have expected, the disk loads to the point where its icon appears on the desktop, then freezes. What to do?
jwl>> I found that OS 8.5 CD from Apple actually updated my drivers on my disks when I did not update them with FWB drivers current version (at the time 8.5 was released). So now my s900 has apple disk drivers. My suggestion is try to skip forward a couple (Apple disk driver) versions and see if it will update properly. Maybe a 9.04 CD will update it. jj -- SuperMacs is sponsored by <http://lowendmac.com/> and...
