Does the whole computer freeze, or does just the 2940UW not work?

If the former, then you need to go into the PL Control Panel before
installing the G3 card (i.e. with a 604(e) card installed) and
disable speculative processing. The 2940UW will freeze a machine
with a G3 if Speculative Processing is enabled. I think that
NewerTech G3 upgrades don't have this problem, and machines from the
Kansas generation and later are okay, but our Umax machines do have
this problem.

If the machine is starting up, but the 2940UW simply isn't working
(the red LED on the card stays lit), then you either have a PC
version of the card instead of the Mac PowerDomain version, or the
Mac firmware on the card is corrupt (may wish to try reflashing it),
or the card is defective, or the card is not seated properly in the
PCI slot.
