The latest version of XPostFacto software has installed and booted
OSX on a Power Book 2400! What makes this not off topic is the 2400
has a 603e cpu in it.Yes they can be upgraded to a G3 but either of
them are working in OSX. yes there are still things to fix but it is
happening! The C500/600 Umax machines also have the 603e cpu. Ryan
who writes XPostFacto has an Apple 6500 machine and he expects that
it will at some point run on that machine. The 6500 is a newer version
of the Apple 6400 which the C500/600 motherboard is based on. So
don't get to excited but OSX may yet run on e C500/600. My guess from
what I know and from info from Ryan makes me think that C500/600
machines with 603e CPU's and Ziff G3 upgrades will be able to run
with OSX on them. The L2 G3 upgrades will require new software before
they can boot OSX. Sonnet has given up on this so it is unknown who
would write the software. Ryan maybe able to with some help... So
just an update on some new info. The 603e will likely run fairly slow
with OSX and the 144 max ram on these machines will also slow things
down a bit. I'm not sure it will run OSX fast enough for anyone to be
happy with it. But it might be nice to try it out for some. Later
