Nobody really says it can be done, but I put an xlr8 500 mhz G4 zif into my S900 and it runs very well at 528 mhz. The zif was put into a XLR8 MPE carrier card so I might be able to have a dual 528 mhz machine at some later time. The bottom line is I have a lot of peripherals and I like the S900 alot.
I must be very near the limit because 9 X a 60 mhz buss speed = 540 mhz; however my machine was not stable when I tried to go that fast. SSE= Six Slot Edition (not needed with the S900) MPE= Multiprocessing Enabled (2G4's with OS X as I understand it) G4's do show a substantial speed increase in Photoshop and Quicktime apps.
