I have a C600--same motherboard. If you have a Firewire only card,
there should be little problem. I had a mess with an Adaptec combo
USB 2.0/FW card last fall. The card was engineered for PCI 2.1
compliance and there seems to be significant questions as to the
C-series PCI bus. I swapped out the Adaptec card and replaced it
with a generic CompUSA FW/USB card which seems to handling anything I
throw at it. I think the problem with Adaptec card was the USB 2.0
side and the known bus timing issues on the motherboard. Yes, there
are no known public USB 2.0 drivers for Classic but the card seemed
to burp whenever any USB device was connected.

Make sure you connect a power source to the card for bus power.
