I agree with Chrisso.  I had a USB LaCie burner connected to a PowerMac 9600
and it worked off and on depending on the version of the software and usb
extensions.  Definitely, NOT FAST.

If your Machine can take a internal drive, don�t use USB, it�s to slow.
Internal drives are cheaper and work great, otherwise use external SCSI or a
known good FireWire.
