You should be able to tell by looking in the extensions folder.  You 
would have ATI ROM Xtender 1.0.7 and ATI Radeon PCI ROM Update.

I guess you should avoid it if you are not using 9.2 as Classic.

I guess my "interest" is in burning DVD with our 9600.  I  think Jeff W 
first mentioned the Lite-on and Wired 4 DVD card set up. I have been 
following threads of any kind about DVD, so your post was of interest 
too.

I have zero complaints about our LaCie external CD-RW drive.  But, I 
have a new iMac Flat Panel with the SuperDrive.  Now I lust for one of 
the SuperDrives for the 9600.

The following "snip" of your quote from Sonnet pretty much sums up my 
reluctance to go out and buy a drive that will read and write to DVD.

There is some hope.  I recently added an ATA100 PCI card and a hard 
drive (connected to it) to our 9600.  I might gamble on a DVD drive if I 
can get OS X working on the 9600.

Never quite satisfied with the set up...
