I thought I'd point out a little irony since successfully upgrading to 9.1 from 8.6 on my s900 with an XLR8 G3 300. For some reason, the system is much more stable now. It used to be I could not run the backside cache over 150 without it crashing often. Now I can change it in the CPanel to 200 w/o causing any problems. The card itself normally runs a little hotter then it should, but that's another story.
So even though I had all kinds of unexplainable problems getting 9.1 to install in the first place, things are much better and I will probably be able to over-clock the card itself much easier too. As to why its more stable? Ask the Mac Gods I guess... Also, I've got a Raid question for those who use HDST. To be specific, a 'Mirror Raid' question. Speaking of those 4.3 gig Quantum Atlas II 34550S SCSI drives, I have two of them. I'd eventually like to run one as my primary work drive (which I already do) but the second one as a Mirror. I have a 15 gig IDE as well, partitioned in two, which I guess is on its own for OSX and other playing around. I know that FWB HDTK will set up mirror raids, but will Hard Disk Speed Tools do so? If so, I might change to HDST. For anyone who doesn't know, a Mirror Raid is a second identical drive of size that is written to at the same time of same information as the primary drive. It's an identical copy of everything, hence a backup. Dave -- SuperMacs is sponsored by <http://lowendmac.com/> and...
