You might benefit by zapping the pram on reboot by holding the 
option, Apple, P and R keys till the third chime. Try rebuilding the 
desktop by holding the option-Apple key until the window opens asking 
if you want to rebuild the desktop. Select yes. Other things to try, 
in the system drawer for the problem disk, in the preferences file, 
trash finder, Mac OS and system prefs and reboot. If that doesn't 
help, you can always try Apples First Aid. If you still have 
problems, get TechTool Pro, Nortons disk utility and/or Disk Warrior 
and see what these programs can find. Good luck.
