Well I tried the program "Time Out" in s900 but it didn't seem to have any
effect on the cold start problem with the ide drive.  Tried different
timings but they make no difference.  The ide just doesn't want to boot from
the initial cold start.  Restart is fine except it is in 640 X 480 monitor
res, but luckily the extensions automatically reset to 1280.

So I guess my search continues to find the culprit.  Some day the answer
will spring forward.  I'm sure its something simple and probably pretty
dumb.  Thanks
