At the expense of removing doubt about being thought of a fool, allow
me to say briefly (a preacher that's "brief?" Sure:-) that the
opinion under consideration is what makes a guy like me cringe
because of "guilt by association" and the effort, like what you're
reading now, to distance myself and the 95% of balanced and
reasonable believers who reject such idiocy and irrational zealotry.
Every movement, ideology, cause, or other such belief has irrational
zealots--even the Mac cause has its share of wackos many of us would
like not to be associated with. Following the posted link is an
example of an element of Christian fundamentalism rarely seen beyond
its own self-appointed pretentious smugness.

Charles Moore of Applelinks commented on this article some time ago.
This is the followup
commentary<http://www.applelinks.com/articles/2002/04/20020424134215.shtml>
to the original article
<http://www.applelinks.com/articles/2002/04/20020423140855.shtml>. I
do not purport to add to Moore's very fine analysis; I simply wish to
point out Moore is a practicing Anglican very conscious of
evangelical tendencies. Although I am not an Anglican, I'd say
Charles & I could comfortably share a pew in each other's church.
Take the time to read the analysis--it's worth it.
