Is this CPU card Apple standard or a Umax Gemini card? Only CPU cards made
for the proprietary Gemini slot will fit, you cant use others. They were
made by Umax and Daystar I think (my 2nd CPU has a Daystar label). These
special cards are build "upside down" to fit.
The Gemini cards have a small black connector on one side, it looks like
this:

The original main CPU card has this connector too, with 3 jumpers on the
right for single processing mode. The Gemini card comes with a small cable,
for multiprocessing one has to remove the jumpers and use the cable to
connect the two cards.
So, multiprocessing is only possible with a original Umax CPU and a
Umax/Daystar Gemini card, or you have to remove the main CPU card and
replace it with a Apple dual processor card (2 processors on one card).
Id suggest a G3 upgrade, thats much faster than multiprocessing 604es.
