Well, in the spirit of "is it plugged in?" and other mandatory troubleshooting questions... You sure the ethernet cable is plugged into the card, rather than the motherboard's ethernet port? And if you are getting ethernet from your E-100, can you confirm that it is indeed only 10 and not 100Mbit? Wouldn't that be funny if nobody had realized that we went from "fast SCSI but no ethernet" under OS 9 to "fast ethernet but no SCSI" under OS X? Unless somebody chimes in and confirms otherwise, I'll add it to the list of things to try next time I reboot. (Yes, I'm an uptime whore.
