Getting it on the bus properly is an IDE thing, not a PC or Mac
thing. Whether it will be readable by the Mac OS is a PC/Mac thing.
:-)

You just need a three position cable (one for the motherboard, one
for the master, one for the slave) which may already be installed in
your Mac. I.e., if there's a space connector on your cable, you're
good as far as the cable is concerned.

Check your original drive to make sure it is set to master. Western
Digital drives have a separate setting for Single, so if your current
drive is a WD, you need to change it from Single to Master. Other
brands use Master for both Master and Single, so they should not need
changes, I think. Set your PC drive to Slave. Install the PC drive
on the cable, and you're good to go.

The settings for Single, Master and Slave are done by installing
jumpers on the drive. Most drives will have a diagram printed on the
drive itself telling you how to configure the jumpers for these
settings. If your drive doesn't have a diagram, you'll need to look
it up at the manufacturer's site to get the documentation.

Another setting choice is CS or Cable Select. Don't worry about that
one. You'll never use it.
