Mah is important, to a point, you must at least meet the minimum Amphours (mah=Milli-Amp Hours) or else the battery will not be able to power the device. Going with a higher mah will not hurt anything and is perfectly safe. In this case, this battery is the exact replacement for the macintosh computers (the later ones didn't but the older packages for this battery actually said 'for Macintosh computers'. Tadiran was a company that some Macs came with initially. There was another company that Apple used as well, I just don't remember them.
